New proposals for sanctions are being developed, including entry bans for former Russian combatants. The EU has already imposed extensive sanctions since 2014 in response to Russia's actions in Ukraine, with 21 sanction packages adopted to date. The latest measures include restrictions on Russian ships and financial institutions, affecting around 3,000 individuals and entities.
