Uniunea Europeană înfiinșează o misiune de sprijin pentru forţele de securitate şi apărare din Liban

The EU foreign ministers have approved the establishment of a mission to strengthen Lebanon's defense and security institutions. The EUSM Lebanon mission, part of the Common Security and Defense Policy, aims to support stability and governance in Lebanon for an initial three-year period. It will enhance the capabilities of the Lebanese armed forces and internal security forces, focusing on territorial control and maritime security. The mission will have both military and civilian components, providing training and advice to improve operational capacities. Operational planning will follow the decision, with a separate decision needed to launch the mission.
