Uniunea Africană va lansa prima agenţie de rating de pe continent, o alternativă la agenţiile globale S&P Global Ratings, Moody's şi Fitch

The African Union is set to launch the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA) in Mauritius, aiming to provide an alternative to major global rating agencies. This initiative comes as many African economies face increasing sovereign debt pressures. AfCRA, established in 2018, will operate independently and assess states, financial institutions, and private companies. The agency seeks to improve access to capital markets and offer more contextually relevant evaluations for African economies. The need for such an agency has grown due to rising debt service costs, which have outstripped budgets for essential social sectors in many countries.
