The initiative, led by PSD senator Daniel Cătălin Zamfir, awaits a vote in the Senate plenary. USR senators opposed the bill, citing insufficient consultation with stakeholders. Local authorities are not required to fund uniforms, although they may choose to do so. Supporters argue that uniforms could reduce bullying, a claim that has faced skepticism. The bill must pass both the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies to become law.
