Italian bank UniCredit SpA has signed an agreement to acquire the securities services division from French rival Societe Generale. This division, which manages investor portfolios and related administrative services, employs 54 staff in Milan and Turin. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. SocGen had previously acquired this division from UniCredit in 2006, establishing a long-term partnership to manage these services for the Italian bank, which was renewed in 2017 until 2026. UniCredit aims to bring strategic activities in-house, enhancing data utilization and reducing reliance on external providers. Representatives from both banks did not comment on the matter.
