Ungaria vrea să adopte euro „cât mai curând posibil” și taie cheltuielile pentru a reduce deficitul bugetar
Hungary aims to adopt the euro soon by implementing budget cuts to reduce its deficit. Finance Minister Andras Karman stated that the government plans to achieve a deficit below 3% of GDP by 2030, which is essential for euro adoption. The first budget under Prime Minister Peter Magyar targets a deficit of 4.9% by 2027, significantly lower than the current estimate of 7.5%. However, economists warn that global market volatility could hinder economic growth and deficit reduction efforts. The government is considering politically sensitive measures, such as capping tax exemptions for mothers. Karman emphasized that sustainable deficit reduction is crucial for euro adoption, aiming for entry into the eurozone by 2032, contingent on meeting necessary conditions.
