Ungaria testează o armă laser care distruge drone. România, fără soluții, ridică avioane de război scumpe • Newsweek România

Hungary has unveiled a domestically developed laser weapon capable of detecting and destroying drones, with plans to operationalize it within a year. The system was demonstrated on October 17 during a military innovation exhibition, successfully neutralizing a simulated aerial threat. While details about the weapon's specifications remain undisclosed, it represents a shift towards cost-effective drone defense technologies. In contrast, Romania continues to rely on expensive fighter jets for air threat interception. Other countries, including the UK and the US, are also investing in laser systems to counter drone threats, highlighting the growing importance of such technologies in modern warfare.
