Hungary is restarting a second turbine at the Paks nuclear power plant due to rising Danube water levels, which had previously forced the shutdown of three reactors. The plant typically provides half of Hungary's electricity, but was operating at minimal capacity due to low water levels necessary for cooling. The Danube's level has increased by 19 centimeters, allowing for the reconnection process to begin. However, all four units can only be fully operational if the river rises by at least 5 centimeters more, which would enable a lengthy reactivation process.
