Ungaria renunță la miliarde de euro venite de la UE pentru înarmare. Banii ar putea ajunge în România • Newsweek România
Hungary is reducing its SAFE funding requests, potentially freeing up around 20 billion euros for other EU countries, including Romania. Romania has expressed interest in these unused funds, which could enhance its defense sector. The European Commission plans to launch a new funding round by 2026, allowing Romania to apply for additional resources. Hungary has cut its initial request from nearly 16 billion euros to about 5.4 billion euros, creating a surplus for redistribution. Romania has already received 16.7 billion euros under SAFE and has proposed 35 defense projects totaling 16.68 billion euros, focusing on military equipment and infrastructure.
