Ungaria irigă terenurile agricole afectate de secetă cu apa din iazuri, după scoaterea peştilor
Hungarian fish farms are collaborating with the national water authority to utilize water from large basins for irrigation, addressing drought issues. This summer's drought has led to record low river levels, impacting transport and a nuclear power plant. The government has introduced a strategy focusing on natural water retention methods to mitigate future drought damage. Traditionally, water from fish harvesting was released into rivers, but now some is redirected to wetlands. Farmers are requesting access to this water, and the fish farming organization plans to expand the initiative nationwide. The urgency of water management has been acknowledged by the Prime Minister, who admitted delays in starting these efforts.
