Hungary has initiated engineering works to raise the Danube's water level near the Paks nuclear power plant to ensure its operation amid declining water levels. Prime Minister Peter Magyar emphasized the need for immediate measures after a historic low forced the shutdown of three reactors. A dam is being constructed to divert more water to the plant's cooling system, with an estimated cost of 16.5 million euros. The construction is expected to take about a month and will require 145,000 cubic meters of stone.
