Unelte de neanderthalieni, descoperite în România

Archaeologists in Romania have discovered evidence that Neanderthals used bone tools for various activities, changing previous understandings of their technology. The study, led by Monica Mărgărit, focused on intentionally modified animal bones found in the Abri 122/1200 cave, dating back 230,000 to 60,000 years. This research indicates that Neanderthals utilized a wider range of materials beyond stone, suggesting a more complex technological system. The findings contribute to a better understanding of Neanderthal presence in the Carpathians and their resource exploitation.
