On August 23, the Romanian Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of the Icon of the Mother of God "Panaghia Xenia" from Kato Xenia Monastery in Greece, believed to have miraculous powers. The icon, dating back to the iconoclastic period, was miraculously found by believers who built a monastery in its honor. Despite numerous attacks and a devastating earthquake in 1980, the icon remained unharmed, leading to the monastery's reconstruction nearby.
