Unde se află cea mai bătrână pădure din România? Unii copaci au vârsta de 700 de ani • Newsweek România
The oldest forest in Romania, Mociar, features trees aged between 650 and 720 years, dating back to the formation of medieval Romanian states. Located near Nădașa in Mureș County, it spans 48 hectares and is a protected area since 2000. The forest is home to ancient oaks, ashes, and trembling poplars, with minimal human intervention over the centuries. It also hosts rare flower species and wildlife such as wild boars and deer. Many of the ancient trees have died, but their remains still stand, showcasing the forest's rich history.
