Unde mai merg românii în vacanță și ce destinații pierd teren. Bilanțul turismului după primele opt luni
Romanian tourism showed signs of recovery in August, with increased arrivals and overnight stays, yet the first eight months indicate a decline in domestic travel. The coastal region thrived, attracting more tourists, while mountain resorts, spa areas, and the Danube Delta lost appeal among Romanian visitors. Data reveals a 1.4% drop in arrivals and a 1.9% decrease in overnight stays for Romanians compared to last year. In contrast, foreign tourist numbers rose significantly. The coastal area accounted for a substantial share of tourist arrivals, while disparities between regions remain stark. Despite some recovery in August, the overall domestic tourism market has not fully bounced back, highlighting the need for better promotion of Romania's attractions.
