Unde „dispare” grăsimea când slăbim? Răspunsul este mai surprinzător decât crezi

Researchers from the University of Birmingham revealed that when losing weight, 84% of fat is converted to carbon dioxide and exhaled, while 16% is expelled as water. The process begins when the body is in an energy deficit, prompting fat cells to break down triglycerides through lipolysis. The resulting fatty acids are then processed in mitochondria, producing energy, carbon dioxide, and water. This challenges the common belief that fat is primarily lost through sweat, emphasizing that breathing is the main way fat leaves the body. The percentages are estimates, as measuring all byproducts of fat metabolism is complex.
