Turkey is developing a high-speed train line along the Black Sea coast, spanning 513 kilometers from Samsun to Sarp at the Georgian border. The line is designed for speeds up to 250 km/h and will feature 14 train stations, passing through several cities. The Turkish Minister of Transport highlighted this project as part of a broader initiative to expand the high-speed rail network in northern and eastern Turkey. Travel times are estimated at two hours from Samsun to Trabzon and about one hour and ten minutes from Trabzon to Sarp. The line aims to accommodate both passenger and freight transport, with projected annual traffic of 12 million passengers and 14 million tons of cargo. However, construction has not yet begun, as the project is still in the feasibility study phase.
