A team of Russian archaeologists has uncovered a medieval treasure of 2,600 silver coins, including over 350 previously unknown types, in Kolomna. The hoard, buried by a noble who likely fell victim to the plague, was found in a ceramic jug. Most coins are of the 'denga' type, minted during the reigns of Vasily I and Vasily II. One rare coin features a bird in flight, and the latest coins date back to the 1420s, suggesting a connection to a plague epidemic.
