Un spital din Portugalia le permite animalelor de companie să-și viziteze stăpânii internați

Starting July 9, São João Hospital in Portugal has initiated a program allowing pet visits to hospitalized patients. The "Pets and Company" project aims to reduce isolation and stress for patients through animal companionship. This initiative is supported by various health professionals and is based on the therapeutic benefits of pets, which have been recognized since the 19th century. Visits are regulated and require medical approval, ensuring safety and comfort for all patients. The program prioritizes long-term and terminally ill patients, allowing them to enjoy half-hour visits with their pets once a week. Initial reports indicate no infections have occurred since the program's launch.
