Un sit UNESCO din România, vechi de aproape 2.000 de ani, se deschide publicului larg

The Roman Castrum of the Vth Macedonian Legion in Turda, a UNESCO site, opens to the public on September 11, 2024, after extensive restoration. Previously accessible only to organized groups, the site now features improved visitor pathways and restored structures, including command buildings and baths. The castrum, covering 23.37 hectares, is the largest long-functioning legionary fort in Dacia, strategically located for visibility and water access. Archaeological findings have enriched the local museum's collection, which now holds over 60% of its artifacts from the Roman era.
