Initiated by Senator Ionel Floroiu, the amendment was adopted by the Senate's public administration committee. Currently, only mayors and certain council leaders have their mandates recognized as work experience. The Ministry of Development supports the amendment, citing the exclusion of vice mayors as a legislative oversight. The proposal will be voted on in the Senate plenary before moving to the Chamber of Deputies for final approval.
