Un sat cu 350 de locuitori a votat pentru independență față de Marea Britanie. Ce i-a determinat să organizeze un referendum

The village of Piddington in Oxfordshire held a symbolic referendum for independence in protest against a government plan to house 1,256 illegal migrants in a former military base. Approximately 285 residents voted for independence, with a participation rate of 92%. The referendum, organized by the local council, coincided with the anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The initiative aimed to express residents' opposition to the government's proposal to use the military base for migrant accommodation instead of hotels, which has faced public protests.
