Un restaurant cu două stele Michelin din Coreea de Sud a fost amendat cu aproape 10.000 de euro după ce a servit clienților un desert cu furnici

A renowned two-Michelin-star restaurant in South Korea was fined for serving a dessert containing ants, which are not approved for consumption. The owner received a fine of approximately €9,590, while the managing company was fined €6,350 for violating food safety laws. Initially sentenced to a year in prison and a higher fine, the owner’s punishment was reduced due to his guilty plea and lack of prior convictions. The judge noted that tests on the ants revealed excessive heavy metals. The case came to light after the food safety ministry noticed online reviews featuring the controversial dessert, which had been served for nearly four years. Although banned in South Korea, ants are considered a delicacy in some regions of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
