In the western region of Romania, nearly 1,000 teachers reported earnings from private tutoring over the past two years, totaling over 30 million lei. The highest reported income from tutoring reached 575,000 lei in 2025. The number of teachers declaring their tutoring income increased from 676 in 2024 to 941 in 2025, with total earnings rising from 11.4 million to 18.7 million lei. Teachers must register their tutoring activities legally at the Trade Register and declare their income to ANAF using a specific form. Timiș County leads in reported tutoring earnings, while Caraș-Severin has the fewest teachers reporting such income.
