Un obicei de zi cu zi este asociat cu un risc cu 49% mai mare de apariție a simptomelor tulburărilor de alimentație la adolescenți

A recent study involving nearly 9,000 U.S. adolescents found that owning a smartphone at age 12 is linked to a 36% higher likelihood of reporting eating disorder symptoms. Those with smartphones reported a 61% higher prevalence of compulsive eating symptoms. The research, led by UCSF scientists, suggests delaying smartphone access for children may be beneficial due to its association with disordered eating habits. While the study does not prove smartphones cause these symptoms, early and unsupervised access to social media may increase body dissatisfaction during puberty. The findings highlight the need for parental awareness and potential medical evaluations regarding smartphone use and eating disorder risks among teens.
