Un nou vaccin reduce cu 42% riscul de deces sau de recidivă în cazul uneia dintre cele mai agresive forme de cancer, arată studiile
Moderna and Merck announced that their mRNA cancer vaccine combined with immunotherapy reduced the risk of death or recurrence in melanoma by 42%. The phase 3 study involved over 1,100 patients and showed a 38% reduction in cancer spread. The companies plan to seek approval in the US, aiming for a 2027 launch. This combination therapy is also being tested for other cancers. The vaccine, intismeran, instructs the immune system to target specific tumor mutations, while Keytruda enhances immune response. Initial results indicate significant long-term benefits for patients receiving both treatments.
