The Ministry of Finance borrowed nearly 1.13 billion lei from banks through two state bond issues, according to BNR data. They raised 200 million lei via bonds with a 168-month maturity at a 7.03% yield. An additional auction is scheduled to attract 30 million lei at the same yield. Furthermore, 929.7 million lei was secured through treasury certificates with an 11-month maturity at a 6.09% yield. The Ministry plans to borrow 7.2 billion lei from commercial banks by August 2026, which is 1.3 billion lei less than previously scheduled. This funding will be used for refinancing public debt and covering the state budget deficit.
