An archaeological discovery near Cairo has unveiled a 4,400-year-old tomb, showcasing well-preserved decorations and significant historical insights. The Spanish-Egyptian mission, led by Josep Cervelló, found a mastaba at Saqqara linked to Yunmen, a high official of Pharaoh Djedkare Isesi. The tomb features two funerary chapels and remarkable wall scenes depicting agricultural activities and offerings, retaining original colors. This find enhances understanding of social organization and funerary practices in ancient Egypt, reflecting Yunmen's social ascent. The area, previously known but not thoroughly studied, may hold more undiscovered monuments, as researchers aim to reconstruct the necropolis's topography.
