Nine individuals have been arrested for forming an organized crime group involved in cigarette smuggling and drug trafficking in Brașov and Covasna. The group, consisting of one woman and eight men, began operations in February and operated in a pyramid structure. They were responsible for smuggling cigarettes from Hungary and selling them locally, while two members also dealt with cannabis trafficking. During the investigation, authorities seized over 143,000 cigarettes, various drugs, and significant amounts of cash. The arrests were made with the support of multiple police units and agencies.
