Un ministru austriac se opune aderării accelerate a Ucrainei la Uniunea Europeană
Austria opposes Ukraine's rapid EU accession, emphasizing the need for careful consideration of the EU's capacity to absorb new members. Minister Claudia Bauer criticized President Zelensky's push for a quick membership date, stating that such an accelerated process is not feasible. She highlighted the significant changes Ukraine's membership would bring to the EU and warned against creating a 'two-speed community'. While negotiations began in June, many reforms are still needed in Ukraine, particularly in combating corruption. EU officials do not expect accession before the mid-2020s, especially not before the end of the ongoing war with Russia.
