Un înlocuitor al zahărului, sub lupa cercetătorilor. Crește riscul de infarct și AVC cu peste 50%
A recent study presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress indicates that xylitol, a common sugar substitute, is linked to a higher risk of heart attack and stroke. The research involved over 17,700 participants from Canada and the UK, revealing that those with elevated blood xylitol levels had a significantly increased risk of cardiovascular events. The findings suggest that while xylitol is often perceived as a healthier alternative to sugar, its long-term cardiovascular safety remains uncertain. Further studies are needed to clarify the direct impact of xylitol consumption on heart health.
