Greenvolt, a Portuguese renewable energy group owned by KKR, secured €284 million for a 253.1 MW wind farm in Călărași, Romania. The project will feature 42 turbines and is expected to be operational by the end of 2027. The funding comes from eight financial institutions and supports Greenvolt's expansion in renewable energy. The company is also developing another wind farm in Ialomița, contributing to a total capacity of 506 MW across both projects. Greenvolt plans to sell some projects, including the Ialomița wind farm to ENGIE. In Romania, Greenvolt has a portfolio of over 700 MW in wind energy and other renewable projects.
