Fossils of a 25-meter-long Diplodocus have been discovered in eastern Spain, marking the first confirmation of this dinosaur's presence outside the western United States. The find, made at La Tejería near El Castellar in Teruel province, dates back to approximately 150 million years ago during the Late Jurassic. Previously, Diplodocus fossils were only known from the Morrison Formation in North America. The Spanish specimen includes well-preserved caudal vertebrae and associated bones, indicating a broader geographical distribution of these sauropods. Researchers suggest that temporary land connections may have allowed dinosaurs to migrate between North America and Europe during this period, providing new insights into their movement across continents.
