Un fost episcop din Australia, condamnat la șase ani și jumătate de închisoare pentru viol și abuzuri sexuale / Ar fi folosit fondurile bisericii pentru petreceri nud
Former Australian bishop Christopher Saunders has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison for sexually abusing two young men during his time as a Catholic cleric. He was found guilty of one count of rape and twelve counts of sexual assault. Saunders, who resigned in 2020 after the allegations surfaced, will be eligible for parole in February 2031. The court highlighted the long-lasting harm caused to the victims, and the church is under pressure to revoke his remaining titles. An investigation was reopened following a directive from the Pope to address sexual abuse within the Church.
