Un fost episcop a fost condamnat la șase ani și jumătate de închisoare pentru abuz sexual asupra unor tineri
A former Australian bishop, Christopher Saunders, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for sexually abusing two young men while serving as a Catholic cleric. He resigned in 2020 after the allegations surfaced. Found guilty of one count of rape and twelve counts of sexual assault, he will be eligible for parole in February 2031. The judge noted that Saunders disregarded the dignity of his victims, causing them lasting harm. The church is under pressure to revoke his remaining titles and powers, with investigations ordered by the Pope to address sexual abuse within the clergy.
