A former employee of Bulgarian businessman Iliyan Filipov, who was found murdered, has been arrested. Slavcho Megerov, 51, was detained in Sofia after police stopped his car. Evidence suggests he may be the physical perpetrator of the crime. Megerov has a criminal record and was identified from surveillance footage near the crime scene. Filipov owned multiple companies, including a transport firm and a football club, employing around 3,000 people. Concerns for his safety were raised earlier this year, prompting an investigation by the Interior Minister.
