GEM Global Yield, a New York-based investment fund, will invest up to $15 million in Norofert, a Romanian fertilizer producer, to support its expansion in the U.S. and Brazil. The agreement allows GEM to purchase shares from Norofert's significant shareholder, Vlad Andrei Popescu, over three years. The funds will not be transferred directly but will be used for financing through share sales. Norofert aims to enhance its production capabilities and has already established operations in South Dakota and Santa Catarina. The investment marks a significant step for Norofert, which has evolved from modest beginnings to a global player in agricultural inputs.
