Un festival de film pentru publicul maramureșean

The Maramureș International Film Festival (MMIFF) took place from August 19 to 23, 2026, in Sighetu Marmației, showcasing a variety of short films. Directed by Dragoș Iuga, the festival aimed to introduce arthouse cinema to the local audience, inspired by traditional Maramureșan architecture. Out of over 2,000 submissions, 42 films were selected for competition, with awards given in various categories, including animation and documentary. The festival also featured educational components for local high school students and showcased longer films, including Iuga's debut feature.
