This follows claims by U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle that she influenced the fall of the Bolojan government due to its refusal to support a gas corridor project. Dumitriu argues that their actions threaten Romania's sovereignty and economic security. USR leader Dominic Fritz also questioned Simion about discussions with Guilfoyle regarding the motion of no confidence that ousted Bolojan. The U.S. aims to sell liquefied natural gas to Romania, but previous attempts have faced challenges due to high costs and lack of private buyers.
