Chmura was receiving medical attention on stage after the incident, which was described as deeply disturbing. His wife condemned an unauthorized fundraising campaign that emerged online, stating she had no connection to it. Chmura's death follows closely after the passing of another competitor, Marianne von Gierke, who had participated in Mr. Olympia.
