Although the court confirmed the existence of the offenses, the case was closed as the legal timeframe for prosecution had expired. The court also rejected the DNA's request for confiscation of the funds and lifted most of the asset seizures against the defendants. The case involved over 2 million lei transferred without proper legal contracts, and the local council did not pursue civil claims for recovery.
