A 59-year-old man was detained for 24 hours after allegedly assaulting a gendarme on duty in Sector 4, Bucharest. The incident occurred on October 2, 2026, around 7:15 PM, near the Central Arrest of the General Police Directorate. The man, already under judicial control for another case, struck the gendarme while he was performing his duties. Following the incident, police were notified, and the case was taken over by a prosecutor for investigation of the crime of assaulting a public officer. The man will be presented to a judge for legal proceedings.
