Prosecutors in Călărași have reclassified a case involving a 67-year-old man who severely beat his wife, leading to her death. The man initially faced charges of domestic violence but is now charged with causing bodily harm resulting in death. After the assault, the victim was left without medical assistance for three days before being discovered by a social worker. The woman, aged 63, suffered multiple fractures and died weeks later due to her deteriorating condition. The prosecution has requested an extension of the man's preventive arrest.
