A British man had his 25 grams of medicinal cannabis confiscated again just an hour after DIICOT returned it to him. Giancarlo Cristea was initially stopped at Otopeni Airport in July 2024 but had legal prescriptions for the cannabis. After DIICOT closed the initial case, the court ruled that cannabis could be legal under certain conditions. However, shortly after receiving the cannabis back, jandarmii stopped Cristea's taxi and confiscated it again, citing illegal possession. A new criminal case was opened against him, despite the previous court ruling.
