A man was arrested at Miami International Airport for attempting to smuggle 10 live birds hidden in his underwear. Customs officials noticed an unusual bulge in his pelvic area during inspection. Alberto Hernandez Castillo, arriving from Cuba, initially claimed he was not bringing any animals into the U.S. Upon further search, six plastic tubes containing eight yellow-faced grassquits and two blue grosbeaks were found sewn into his underwear. He stated the birds were for personal use and now faces charges for smuggling goods into the U.S., with further investigation by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
