A study revealed that passengers using Ryanair's Boeing 737 integrated stairs face a higher risk of falling compared to those using airport stairs. The analysis of 104 incidents in Italy from 2023 to 2025 showed that 85 involved the aircraft's stairs, highlighting a significant safety concern. The study indicated that passenger inattention was a key factor, rather than the stairs themselves. Ryanair's integrated stairs, while reducing ground service costs, have dimensions that may contribute to falls. Following numerous incidents, the airline has updated its boarding protocols to enhance passenger safety.
