A sculptural ensemble featuring an eagle and two griffins will be reinstated on the University of Bucharest's Palace after 82 years. Originally destroyed in 1944, this restoration marks the beginning of a comprehensive project to restore the palace's original facade. The new bronze sculptures weigh a total of 1.6 tons and are crafted by sculptor Alexandru Siminic, based on the original designs by Karl Storck. This initiative is part of a larger effort to modernize and preserve the university's architectural heritage, funded by the National Construction Program. The restoration symbolizes a historical recovery of an important identity marker for the university and the capital.
