Airbnb has started notifying property owners in Romania about the risks of renting apartments in buildings classified as seismic risk I. Owners have 14 days to prove their properties do not fall under this category, or their listings will be removed. Approximately 74,000 short-term rental spaces are currently available in Romania, showing a 7.8% increase from last year. The Association for Tourism and Property Rentals (ATIP) confirms that Airbnb is officially verifying listings in high-risk buildings, which are prone to collapse during major earthquakes.
