The last battery-powered locomotive modernized at SCRL Brașov has successfully passed its tests, marking a significant achievement in the PNRR project. This project aims to enhance Romania's railway transport by modernizing locomotives and converting diesel-hydraulic ones to battery-powered models. The contracts for this modernization, valued at 525 million lei, include upgrades for 17 electric locomotives and 20 diesel-hydraulic ones. The completion deadline set by PNRR is August 31, 2026.
