Ultima fabrică-gigant de cocs din sud-estul Europei, care se întinde pe 102 hectare, vândută pe bucăți • Newsweek România
The last giant coke plant in Southeast Europe, Koksara Lukavac, is being sold in parts after failed bankruptcy rescue attempts. Established in 1961, the plant spans 102 hectares in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first finalized sale involves the transfer of a used equipment processing station to the municipality of Lukavac. The local administration has already received 3.14 million convertible marks from the sale. The plant's closure is set for February 24, 2026, marking the end of a significant industrial era in the region. The facility was once a monopoly and a key player in the metallurgical industry, producing high-quality metallurgical coke essential for steel production.
